Dietary Needs & Restrictions

If you did not indicate any dietary needs, restrictions or food allergies on your registration form, or you need to make changes to the information you supplied on your registration form, please reach out to Linda Hunter at registration@misa.bc.ca.

It is the responsibility of each attendee to ensure that accurate information has been provided to MISA BC so that the conference food providers may do their best to ensure a safe and enjoyable meal experience for all.

Dress Code

We encourage you to dress and feel comfortable at the conference and recommend ‘Business Casual’ attire for both daytime sessions and evening events.

Two of the three evening events are offsite, and while only a few minutes walk from the Delta, we do encourage you to dress appropriately for October outdoor weather.

Environmental Responsibility

In recent years, MISA BC has undertaken an initiative to reduce the amount of consumption and waste associated with the Fall Conference.  Included in these steps are eliminating printed programs, encouraging the use of personal beverage containers, reducing the amount of wasted drinking water by moving to ‘on demand’ water where available, reducing the amount of food waste from meals, and reducing packaging as well as plastic wherever possible.

Giving Game

How it Works

THE GIVING GAME is designed to engage our Municipal attendees, both in person and virtually, at speaking sessions, activities, and in the Exhibit Hall.

Exhibitors are provided with a Gamification Code which Municipal attendees may ask for when visiting Exhibitor Booths, in order to claim one of several prizes; a chance to give back to their local community with a charitable donation.

Additional codes will be made available throughout the Conference at various events, sessions, and surprise locations.

Donation Criteria

  • Is a registered charity or charitable society in British Columbia
  • Must directly serve and benefit  those living in British Columbia
  • Must comply with the MISA BC Code of Conduct and the Objectives/Vision/Mission for MISA BC
  • Must be approved by the MISA BC Fall Conference Committee

 Prizes
     11 total prizes for codes

  • 1 FIRST place prize worth $1000 donation – $1000
  • 3 SECOND place prizes worth $500 donation each – $1500
  • 6 THIRD place prizes worth $250.00 donation each – $1500
  • 1 BONUS raffle prize – raffled off to a randomly chosen participating attendee – $500

MISA BC is pleased to support local organizations that give back to their communities with The Giving Game and is grateful to our members who select such worthy recipients in their municipalities.

Independent Events - Associate Hosted

We appreciate that our valued associate partners, will want to find ways to connect privately with your most valued stakeholders during the conference.

Please help us avoid past disappointments around food waste and under-subscribed sponsored sessions by ensuring that any private client events you organize outside of the conference do not conflict with our regularly scheduled conference program.

There are a few windows of free time during a rather full schedule. We encourage you to host your private client events:

  1. on Monday after our Tours and before our Welcome Receptions, from 5.30-6.30 pm.
  2. on Tuesday, following our Speaking Sessions and prior to our Membership Appreciation Reception, from 5-6.30 pm.
  3. On Wednesday after our SGM and prior to our evening event at the BNA, from 5.30-7.30 pm.

If you choose to make use of the windows that have conference activities immediately following, please take responsibility for concluding your event with enough time for your clients to return to the scheduled program activities.

We also ask that when inviting your clients you do not include MISA BC branding or language that implies affiliation or endorsement, and that you connect directly with them without using MISA BC platforms.

Your understanding and consideration of our request are greatly appreciated

Please remember to label every piece of luggage that you store, with your contact information.

Pheedloop Go! Event App

The Pheedloop  Go! event app is available for all platforms, including native Android, iOS, and all web browsers.  The experience is uniform across all platforms.

The app includes all of the relevant event information along with a scanning function that allows attendees to scan each other’s badges, for exhibitors to scan booth visitor badges, and for MISA BC staff to scan for speaking session attendance.

The app is most beneficial for ‘in-person’ attendees.

Download the app and search for ‘2023 MISA BC Fall Conference’ . Available April 3rd, 2023

In our continued effort to encourage the reduction of water wastage, we will be providing fewer water glasses at breaks and meals, along with a limited number of pre-poured pitchers of water.
